Perched atop a lofty mountain, this park promises you a delightful adventure and breathtaking panoramic views. go up to the summit via the Tbilisi Funicular, and before you step into the park, take a moment at the overlook to soak in the scenery from Tbilisi's highest vantage point. It is at an elevation of over 2,500 feet, indulge in a variety of attractions including a colossal Ferris wheel, the spine-chilling Ghost Castle dark ride, whimsical carousels, and exhilarating water slides. Stay until nightfall to witness the enchanting glow of Tbilisi’s city lights from above. Entry to the park is complimentary, although there are charges for individual rides and the funicular. Additionally, 1-day passes are available, granting unlimited access to all attractions.

Mtatsminda Park, or "Funicular", as the locals call it, is a great place to escape the hot weather of the city and relax on the mountain, which overlooks the capital of Georgia from a height of 770 meters above sea level. Here you can relax, enjoy the views of Tbilisi, fresh air, have fun with various attractions in the park - both for children and adults. You can visit the park with your family or friends. Every guest of Tbilisi is delighted by visiting "Mtatsminda Park".

Spent 5 days in and around Tbilisi. Lovely place, especially the old part of town. Enjoyed the views of the countryside too-hilly, green with houses perched atop and alongside the hills. Food was interesting, both veg and non-veg.
View from the hotel dining area was excellent though the complimentary buffet breakfast which was laid out was highly insufficient and the platters were just not refilled as more residents trooped in. Shortage of all food items except stone cold bread rolls. The rooms are very small. Hotel was Golden Tulip. Would not recommend the breakfast plan at all. The locals do not know how to welcome tourists-not a smile.

Went on a Tuesday afternoon to the Amusement park and felt excited that would not have to wait long since there were vey few people. But what happened was quite the contrary. Planned on doing the adventure rides but alas they said it would run only if there are minimum 4 persons. Had to wait for hours to find riders for the roller coaster and octopus. Rides are accessible only through the specific card which needs to be Pre loaded and the cash box for loading are far apart. Hence loaded them with balance for all rides but couldn’t use since NO 4 PEOPLE! Also, please be aware that the 7D cinema does not use this card! There you have to pay separately. The rides are too short and hence are exorbitantly priced. Ferris wheel was the only saving grace and ended up taking it thrice just to exhaust the balance! Not worth the time or the money…

The park has great views from the top but most of the attractions at the amusement park were closed which was kind of boring. The big wheel was the highlight as it shows the whole of Tbilisi literally. We also got on the bumper cars and ghost house coaster. After that, we searched for more open attractions which were closed unfortunately with no reason. The video game room does not offer much games. I believe it could be improved.
There are two ways we used to go up and down, the tram and the cable car. The tram which sounded very unsafe but it is 10 Lari per person and 2 Lari for the card which will be used to go on the open attractions. The second option was the cable car which offered stunning views and took us close to the Rose Revolution Square. It is 12 Lari and highly recommend that one.

What started out as an exciting walk up the hill overlooking Tbilisi (yep we went trekking for 1.5 hours) ended up in the discovery of this fun amusement park.
The location is brilliant and they have multiple rides. Been twice so far and I have enjoyed the rollercoaster, the ferris wheel 🎡 (beautiful views) and the octopus 🐙 (she’s crazy). There are fun water rides which will drench you too if it’s hot.
You will need a card for the attractions which you can keep topping up from the various cashpoints every time you go. The funicular uses this card too (we didn’t hike down then ;) and used it from to go up too second time round. 😝
Going in the evening has a charm to it with all the lights and the ambience. I prefer this, myself. And sunset 🌅… it’s beautiful from up there.

The place where we decided to go and see while walking around Tbilisi, but then we made a mistake by saying let's walk because the funiculars leading to the park were broken :). We climbed a huge mountain with thousands of stairs :) We didn't give up while climbing the stairs and thought we were almost there, but I guess it wasn't worth it because it was winter. We rested in a quiet environment for a coffee and went to the center by taxi. If you want to see greenery, walk and take photos, you can go. But I don't think it's necessary.

The one-way train costs 20 lari, the plastic card that is used only here costs 2 lari. 42 lari in total to go up and down.
The train departs every 20 minutes, spends ~5 minutes in a road and makes an additional stop in the middle.
In the winter mostly only food shops are functional on the top and it might be way colder than in the city so take warm clothes with you!
All amusements are payed separately. We participated in the mirror maze and payed 20 lari for 2 adults and 1 child 4 yo. Was not fascinating. We had a feeling that the place is extremely overpriced in winter until you can reach it via other ways than by train.
There are buses that arrive there + a walking route from mother Georgia.
What we did like - is the view from the first cabin of the train when it goes down. This was truly awesome. To achieve that one needs to reserve the sits as soon as the train arrives to the top station and wait for ~20 minutes for it to depart as obviously those sits are the most popular ones

The attitude towards children is terrible, the age limit for the swings is not fair, there is absolutely nothing to do for children from 4 to 7, several poor attractions, in the cafe they will not return your change, for example, the bill came out to 68, they gave 100 back, they returned 30, they left the tip for themselves. People are not nice, shooting galleries and other games for prizes are fake, we played for a certain toy and won, but they told us that for the first time it was something small and they brought some kind of trifle even though it wasn’t there. Very disappointed, they have work to do

Can we take our 2 yr old baby with us to the amusement park? Is there any ride which we can enjoy along with our baby? Also , can the baby ride the Ferris wheel accompanied with parents? Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to answer my query.
Written 12 October 2017
We have only focused on the ferris wheel but that's a reason to go to the park for sure. The cabins are completely closed and air conditioned and one ride takes about 5 minutes. I think there are some activities you can do with a toddler though, like the little train through the park.
