My visit to Mtatsminda has been one of the most fun activities in Tbilisi & Georgia Mtatsminda is basically an amusement park, but it is much more than that You can get there by riding the Funicular which is a tram that will get you up there quicker than the bus, it is nice to experience on its own. Fresh air, a lot of amusement park attractions, a huge Ferris wheel, quad bike/ATV (only slow speed is allowed), a breathtaking view of the city, food/snack stands, a complex of nice restaurants, what more can you ask for, Mtatsminda has it all.

We enjoyed having a look around during the night. We went in the night to avoid crowds and to enjoy the views of the city. There is a very nice-looking carousel, otherwise the rides seem to be a bit tired. The jurassic park/dinosaur adventure is a must go though!

Although the park was fun for the kids, the contact zoo was appalling and I embarrassed I took my kids in. There was a large monkey locked on a tiny cage desperate to get out. It is clearly animal abuse where I am from. I wish I knew where to report them.

Located at the top of the Mtatsminda mountain, the large park has the usual assortment of rides, roller-coasters and ferris wheels found in any amusement park. Its main attraction is a huge ferris wheel. You can reach the park both by bus and the funicular. The park entrance is built to mimic a natural formation of vines growing over rocks. Water dripping from the rocks completes the illusion. Inside, a long paved walk takes you to a beautiful fountain with a tree of life at its center. The fountain is located in a paved area which also provides excellent views over the city. Other attractions like restaurants, snack bars, video games and a ghost castle are located along the walk. The park is a great way to relax and unwind and will be attractive to kids.

As amusement parks go it is quite limited, but still probably enjoyable for small children. The view is great and the park is nice to walk around in for a short time. Probably much more active and interesting in the summertime.
