Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

When visiting Georgia, you will (hopefully) not be able to avoid the Master of Ceremonies, or Tamada. Anywhere Georgians get together, they speech, talk and toast. It is only appropriate this little tamada sits in Old Town to remind us to drink wine, share with friends and have a good time.

Not quite sure what this man is all about but if it is making a toast and drinking wine, Tamada is my kind of statue. I had just done some wine tasting and bought a nice bottle of red (95 lari) Chelti Winery - Saperavi Qvevri Oak Dry - so this statue made some sense to me….Hic!

While we were wandering around the Old Town and vicinity we came across Sculpture the Toaster. The sculpture is of Tamada who is someone who makes a toast at a supra-Georgian feast. The bronze Tamada is seen making a toast on Sioni Street in the Old Town.

Cute guy sits in the middle of the street with the traditional horn in his hand. According to polished places tourists love to be photographed in his lap,say it is a copy, the original sculpture of a fraction and date of manufacture dates back to the 7th century.

Who doesn't love a perfect Instagram photo opportunity with the most popular guy in Georgia? We weren't fortunate enough to be invited to a supra, so this is as close as we got to one of the legendary Georgian toastmasters, an tradition dating back centuries. Touristy fun.

It takes all of 5 minutes to snap a photo and hear the story of why the sculpture even exists (I suggest you go with a guide as part of your tour to understand what it is). If you’re in the old town, snap a photo with the bloke.

The statue of "Temada" is located in the center of the Old City at the junction of 2 streets full of restaurant bars and plenty of entertainment. The statue represents the "Ceremonial director" who is responsible for pouring the wine and the goat's horn that he holds in his hand symbolizes his status.

You will have problems to take a photo here as it is very crowded. If you have found the staue you are close to the street full of good restaurants.

At the entrance of shardeni . It means nothing to us but for locals it is different .
The Georgians are very traditional. Among many important traditions are of course those that are most important. Such a tradition is Tamada – the toast master.
