Yangon’s main train station is quintessentially local & for me is a true reflection of daily life in Yangon. It costs nothing to visit, I would also recommend the next step - catch the train and ride the Yangon Circular Loop 200 kyat per person...More

My friend and I take this train to experience how it's like to be with the locals and how their daily lives go about generally. You have to go to the 6/7 Platform to buy the tickets costing 200 Myanmar Kyats each person. Then, you...More

Hmmmm. Probably not the best train station I've ever visited & the toilets (which you have to pay to use) are an absolute disgrace. We visited to ride the Yangon Circular Train but I'm sure I'll never do it again!

interesting old place, you see people traveling, and old locomotives. One line is going around Yangon in a circle, time maybe 3 hours.

What a shame......it's a lovely old building that's in need of some tender loving care. Just clean it up and repaint would be a start.

By taking the City Circular Train you really get a taste of the life of Yangon and the people who live there. It is a 3 hour ride, however you can hope off and explore different neighborhoods...if you are adventurous!

Train tickets are easy to buy directly at the Yangon Central railway station on arrival of our friends. Tourists are priority seats between the sector Yangon to Mandalay and Bagan.

The building seemed abandoned from the outside, except for the cars parked in front of it. We had to pay the car entrance in addition to our taxi fare. The place was badly lit and dirty.
