Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a massive Buddha that is lying down and is absolutely huge !
Worth a visit and is free entry. Its in a shed and the place is quite odd as the statue is the what the building has been built around.

The Reclining Buddha Statue is a popular place of worship for Myanmar Buddhists and as well of one of the most visited tourist attractions in Yangon. The Chauk Htat Gyi Reclining Buddha is now 66 metres long. 17 metres high, with glass eyes measuring 1.77 metres by 0.58 metres. Each of the colossal soles of the statue are split in 108 segments with symbols representing the 108 characteristics of the Lord Buddha. The Reclining Buddha is housed within a separate metal shed. The Face of Lord Buddha is such that it enchants the senses.

This Buddha statue, which is situated in a stunning pagoda, is so much larger in real life than it appears in photos. It requires contemplation and admiration, particularly due to the attention to detail in color and body situation. Also wander around the pagoda to admire the smaller statues and other artwork, including the architecture, and soak in the history and spirituality of the place.

Good place to visit. Long and huge reclining Buddha statue. Many smaller statues with different Buddha positions. Unfortunately I visited during maintenance of the statue when it was completely covered with wooden frames. So have a look at the rare pictures.

The pagoda notes for its huge reclining Buddha image. It is amazing and much bigger than I thought. Spend time to stroll around there you will learn many things about Buddhism in Myanmar.

Went to see the large (65 meter or about 200 feet) Reclining Buddha with glass eyes, eye lashes and painted nails. Called Chaukhtatgyi. Forty-three statues on front side showing the mudras or representation of Buddha hand positions.

My wife and I visited this place during our recent holiday in Yangon. This large statue is impressive to look at and has detailed prints on the soles of the feet.

There are also many ornaments to look at near the walls of the enclosure.

This Buddha, surprisingly first completed in 1907, as it has a modern look due to its demolition and replacement head it is well worth a visit. It is clearly well preserved and attracts many visitors. Like all temple sites in Myanmar you must remove your shoes before entering; photography / video is allowed and there are toilets just up the road from the site - quite a walk if you are desperate !

The Buddha itself is 66metres long (one of the largest in Burma) and has detailed inscriptions on the soles of its feet. You need perhaps an hour to fully appreciate the site as a whole as there are other attractions including a display which tells you which Chinese sign you were born.

This is one big Sleeping Buddha you will ever see in your life time. It was originally not lying down but slowing change to sleeping down. Donated by a wealthy merchant in the early 1900.
Do engage a guide for better appreciation of the history. The place has no entrance fee.

It is the most beautiful reclining Buddha with a slightly feminine features. Difficult to capture the whole structure on camera. Also it has the feet of Lord Buddha. Beautiful place to visit. You have to remove your shoes before entering
