We stumbled upon this beautiful pagoda since it was very close to another attraction we were seeing we went and had a look. It is really different then most of the other things we had been seeing. If you go towards the back you will see all of this hand wood carving that is really amazing. Worth the extra few... More

No entrance fee. It is a large sitting buddha in a wooden building. Not so impressive if you've seen a lot of buddha's already, but still worth a look.

One of the highlights of the trip, peaceful to sit and meditate for a few minutes before going on your way in busy Yangon.

Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda is renowned for the gigantic sleeping Buddha with feet inscriptions and Nga Htat Gyi Pagoda impressed me with the enormity of a great seated image of the Buddha. I walked across the road from Chauk Htat Gyi and about few meters from the main road is this pagoda located on a slope. The temple lies within... More

Not to be missed sight of the Buddha. The place however should well deserve sprucing up. Do spend some time reading the English translation of the Buddha story inserted under a roll of wall mounted paintings. Watch out for 'scammers' who speak English, ask for your name and to want to hold your hand to say prayers - they will... More

I have been here twice and never had any western tourists. In fact I never really had other visitors around me either. It is a very beautiful Buddha image with a huge temple built around it. Very quiet and great for a meditation.

This impressive Buddha located on a small hill is well worth visiting when in Yangon. It is only 300 meters from the Chaukhtatgyi Buddha which we consder the Nr. 2 attraction in Yangon - after the Swedagon Pagoda complex.
