The Cathedrale du Sacre-Ceour de Brazzaville is a simple small cathedral. It is the oldest existing cathedral in central Africa. The building was built in 1892 and consecrated in 1894.

Attempting to get to the Basilica of Saint Anne for 1030 Sunday mass, my taxi driver instead brought me to the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. The church is simple and needs work, it is not a architectural gem like the Basilica. However, on a very positive note, mass was uplifted by an engaged congregation and joyful music from a very talented choir and accompanying musicians. The cathedrale is situated on a small hill on a small plaza. Nothing much there to see, not sure it is worth a visit.

It's a nice (but short) visit, a normal cathedral that has nothing special, although the surrounding area with gardens and buildings and schools is quite nice and you can have a nice little time.
