Getting to ma vallée may not be an easy task given the general state of the roads in the DRC and out of Kinshasa, but it is worth a visit on a sunny day for a picnic, a ride around the lake or for just a relaxing atmosphere. The framework of water, tall trees and silence, only broken by the... More

Don'expect too much, but it is a nice place for a relaxed weekend walk or picnic. The walk follow the path around the lake, you are very close to water. The walk is easy, mainly in the shade and with no difficulties - OK for small children. There is a small ber/restaurant there, serving cool beer and sodas, and food.... More

This Pleasant lake is a wonderful place to spend a relaxing weekend. It’s a lovely escape from the busy schedule of city. A 6 KM walk around the river is an nice experience and going for a paddle on the boats is a nice way to enjoy. There is a local restaurant serving cheap food and grilled fish tilapia is... More

It is nice to walk around the lake on a Sunday morning, while waiting for your lunch to be prepared by the restaurant facing the lake. Good for families with kids, or sport lovers. The walk around the lake takes about an hour at slow pace.

Silent place and in the lap of nature. Person will be rejuvenated by visiting nice place. Restaurant is there which serve food as per order. Local Congolese, Europeans foods but have less options of all foods due to remote place. It can be reach within an hr from Kinshasa city. Boating is also available in the site. Charges are minimum.

The surroundings offer a calm retreat away from Kinshasa. It's a nice place to take a large group to (just make sure you order food ahead of time) or to hold a one-day small group meeting. It's near Lola Ya Bonobo so I suggest making this a lunch top after or before visiting the bonobos.

Relatively close to Kinshasa, great for a half day out. Leave early morning, around 7-8 AM and visit the Bonobos first as it is almost next to the lake. Then walk around the lake. You can have lunch by the lake. But make sure to order first before your walk as it takes time to prepare. Make sure to wear... More

Really only an attraction because it is close to the Bonobo Reserve, but is nevertheless a nice break from Kin.

This a nice place for a picnic and convenient as it is close to the Bonobo Sanctuary. Both attractions are normally included in the same itinerary. Visitors can also try some fishing from the lakeside.

Contrary to what a previous reviewer said, this is a great place for tourists if they want a peaceful getaway from the hustle and bustle of Kinshasa. The paddle boats cost around $5 per 20 minutes. The food is around $10 - $15, and we found the chicken was much better than the beef -- and our group was so... More
