Beautiful and rich place

One of our favorite places to take pictures with friends. It's beautiful and well-maintained and you can meet with artists and even buy art there.

Art in Kinshasa

Nice place to visit and see some artwork that you can buy. Exhibitions can be nice as well. Not the most visited location in Kinshasa but worth it.

Welcoming students

The Académie des Beaux Arts de Kinshasa, or Academy of Fine Arts, is a higher art school with a park in which the visitor can see about forty original sculptures made by the students or the teachers and an exhibition hall with oil paintings and other artifacts, including souvenirs.

Most of the pieces on display can be bought. And it's much cheaper than at the Symphonie des Arts! You also don't need to bargain, since price tags are already on most pieces. Another great thing about this place is that you can see the artists at work and talk to them if you wish to do so. They are very welcoming!

Local art in a serene setting
Apr. 2016 • Family
The gardens are lovely and they have a wonderful selection of works from Congolese artist for sale.
I would love to visit again alone. It was a relaxing space I couldn't fully enjoy with my young children.

A great place for art and antropology lovers.

Excellent exhibitions of local and popular themes. Don't miss the paintings and sculptures.
You can run into some workshops where artists are working in front of your eyes. The surroundings are also nice filled with sculptures, though some are in a bad shape.

Museum and gallery of local Congolese artists

We enjoyed visiting, there are two exposition halls. You can visit the workshop and see sculptors / ceramists at work. There is also an outdoor sculpture garden. We didn't have a chance to see the third museum space (upstairs from the sculpture workshop) as we got rained out! The Academie also offers evening classes in various artistic domains.
