It's off the beach at Hideaway Island and you can freedive down a couple of meters to post your waterproof postcards! They sell them on at the bar on the beach. What's not to love? Yes, it's a gimmick, but so what? I loved how...More

A trip to Hideaway island is worthwhile just for the great snorkeling and the underwater post office is just a by product. Whilst the post office is just a ‘hut’ located underwater with a small post office box near by - it really is a...More

It's a post box more than a post office and really could do with a makeover. This is a tourist gimmick where the "postie" actually goes out with you and then comes back with you. Well thats what we saw anyway.

Not cheap once you add up the ferry, the card and postage etc, but so much fun to post your postcard under water

Visited the underwater post office at Hideaway Island and did some snorkeling here in December 2017. Most coral is white, dead and/or broken. Destroyed by the multitude of tourists passing through. The bar is good and serves a good range of drinks. Staff are helpful...More

It was good to see and send some postcards to family from the underwater post office. It can be a bit of a challenge to get the cards in pending on what tide there is.

The idea is novel but nothing much to see here, the marine life was far more impressive. We were easily able to dive down just snorkelling.

If you have time to do a round of the island there are lots of little beaches and coves with clear water and beautiful fish. Hideaway is lovely and a good choice as it is not too far to travel.
