We visited while at port for a day. There is an entrance fee to Hideaway Island. Swimming down to the post office was difficult but fun trying. Snorkelling is okay with lots of fish and some coral. Underwater camera come in very handy. I found my reef shoes were more helpful than flippers.

For roughly $5-6 AUD it is definitely worth doing! You will probably never get another chance to mail a postcard underwater so why not do it.

The snorkeling is amazing and the swim down to the underwater post office (about a metre and a half) is easy and not too strenuous. You buy a laminated post card from the gift shop and swim down to the post office which is about 10 metres out from shore and get it stamped and they will mail it out... More

Unfortunately I couldn't dive down far enough to post a postcard but luckily my fiancé could get down to post it for me. If you go at low tide most people should be able to get down to it though. It was a fun experience.

The underwater post office was quite good you pay 600vatu and you get to post a postcard underwater.. note: you have to be a confident swimmer because the letterbox (where you mail it) is quite deep in high tide other than that the underwater post office and hideaway island is great highly recommended

It's a bit of a gimic but that was part of the appeal. The rest of Hideaway Island was a let down but I found the Underwater Post office to be a bit of light hearted fun.

Novelty attraction where you can post a letter underwater. For some its just a little to deep to duck dive down to. Would be much better if it was higher up.

I know it's a weird thing to do but for kids on the other side receiving an underwater postcard it's going to be great. I'll give you their feedback when it arrives. Not even that expensive as it includes postage.

This was the one and only thing on my must do list while in Vanuatu. The beautiful, however small, coral and fish were lovely to see and you swim out to the post office. It's around 50m out, and there is the underwater post box and hut type thing where someone can be inside. We were there during high tide,... More
