A beautiful cathedral which we visited on a local coach tour. Located in a quiet part of the city with fabulous views. Well worth a visit.

The history of New Caledonia is heavily tied up with the activities of European missionaries so visiting this cathedral is central to learning about their role. Its open and spacious, built by convicts (mostly), and close to the city centre so easy to get to.

Unfortunately the doors were all closed when we visited but we managed to see enough inside through the closed grills and it was quiet and tranquil. The views from here over the city and the sea lovely.

Such an amazing Architecture and view from above is also amazing! This is a place that needs to be seen and see the statue of Joan of Arc.

Built by convicts, the nickel chandeliers, and wooden roof were particularly impressive. Don't miss the statue of Joan of Arc outside.

Beautiful old cathedral where you can almost feel the spirit of those who have worshipped there for more than a century. Lovely cool spot to take a break from your day in Noumea.

You don't need to be religious to recognise the beauty of this church and to appreciate the opportunity for quiet reflection that is offered. Well worth a visit and within a short walk of Coconut Square or The American Monument.

Nice cathedral with lots of stained glass. We visited on a rainy day - take care walking up the steps in the rain. Interesting statue of Joan of Arc alongside the cathederal.

We walked from the terminal where the bus from the ship left us but there were plenty of taxis available - also hoho type bus. As Karen said there is some uphill walking but it is not excessive. Local currency is available... More
