Fernando, wow what a huge personality! Such as awesome gentleman who you can hear before you see him. He makes a taxi ride very entertaining also has wealth of knowledge of Noumea. We had booked hime several times and was always willing to help run us to cheaper supermarkets and give us tips on local restaurants. Would recommend the man with the huge sunnies and captain hat for your taxi service

Fernando personally sees to all arrangements and greets us in Noumea, (We 6 booked the half day Signal island/half day Noumea tour) from there we took a thrilling boat ride to Signal island where we snorkelled amongst many turtles in a magnificent marine reserve.
After Lunch Fernando who is larger than life and one of the friendliest people we have met, took us on a comprehensive and hilarious tour of his island home..
Couldnt recommend him highly enough! God Bless you our new friend Fernando!

Fernando’s cruise ship tour was great. We met with Fernando after taking the cruise ship’s free courtesy bus to the the city terminal and walking over to the pastry shop.
Fernando did a nice job of pointing out the scenic and historic sights, and answering all of our questions. Sadly we were in port on a Monday, which is when some attractions are closed. But Fernando kept us entertained and we got to tour the island and see the local laid back culture! We got more flavors of Noumea when we met his nice son during lunch at school. His wife had prepared a great meal with coconut milk and curry! It was perfect to picnic outside with views of the harbor while eating a delicious home-cooked lunch! We even renewed or wedding vows at a local stop where we were able to fill our water bottles with the Noumea’s fresh spring water. Fernando improvised to make a ring out of the local greenery and even added a flower for my wife’s hair as I proposed on bended knee.
We next stopped at a local bakery where we enjoyed a freshly made French baguette and a chocolate eclair! Lastly we had time to try the local Kava drink and hang out at a traditional Kava bar! It was very cool to experience it like a local, drinking Kava in the coconut shell cups! All in all if you want an independent tour by a warm genuine local that will leave you smiling, don’t hesitate to book a tour with Fernando!

Fernando was an amazing tour chauffeur. We were entertained by his music, dancing and knowledge of the local landmarks. He swiftly organised a great day out on Mabojet hitting the Jetskis. We have booked Fernando for round 2 in a few days. You must lock this legend in for your travel in Noumea!

FERNANDO is a legend! A bucket of of energy and laughs. He is very well spoken, has great local knowledge and seeks to please beyond expextations! Fernando took my wife and to a Zip Line activity. He gave up fishing for the day to answer a short notice call. We even stopped at Mc Donald's on the way back! He provides a whole range of tours and services, from private taxi to home stays and two week island adventures.

We booked Fernando last minute when we arrived on a P&O boat yesterday.
We were 2 families. Both loud and fun families. With one child having a mild disability.
Fernando was a hoot from the second we even saw him coming. He’s the maddest and funniest tour guide in the entire pacific at a guest. He laughs. He jokes. He sings. He brings beer. And coke. And water. He toots his horn around the entire city. You end up all singing along.
We had an absolute ball
We learnt more in our 4 hour tour than anyone else would of in the ship derived tours combined. We did everything. Our only regret is that we didn’t book earlier so we could of gone to his home for lunch.
You just won’t find a better tour guide. Don’t even bother looking. So long as you love someone whose extremely outgoing and fun. He is the absolute best.

We took a tour with Fernando for 8 adults.
We were met at the cruise terminal and loaded into a clean, air conditioned van.
Fernando totally customised the tour for us and made the whole day a pleasant experience.
We ventured up into the countryside well away from the normal tourist traps.
The highlight was a home cooked lunch on the beach.
Fernando took us to many places outside the city and we hardly saw another tourist while on our tour.
We highly recommend this wonderful man. Check his website and videos on YouTube

Our tour of the great south with Fernando was fabulous. He is a knowledgeable fun guide who took us to out of the way places to show the flora and fauna as well as history of the region. The scenery is stunning and Fernando provides so much background information. We highly recommend Fernando’s tour of the great South.

My 2nd tour with Fernando and nothing has changed. (First tour back in 2016) He is still fun, loud and full of life. Unfortunately, Noumea was having industrial strikes (road blocks etc) while we were there but Fernando made sure we still got to see the sights. An impromptu visit to the massive supermarket to buy lunch, and then having lunch on a secluded beach, drinking kava and meeting the locals was a highlight. Thankyou again for a wonderful day.

Fernando is a legend. Dropped in to Noumea on a cruise. Took us up to the cultural centre. Perfect pick up when we were ready again. Such a character. Kept us entertained the whole time. Would definitely recommend getting in touch with Fernando if ever visiting Noumea.

So sorry for late reply. I didn’t realise until now your message. We paid him cash. There’s an ATM over the road from where he parks. I wasn’t sure where and he pointed me to it while I ran over. :)

I would like to book Fernando. My cruise is 4th April out of Sydney stopping in Noumea on the 10th.
Written 28 March 2018
You don’t need to book in advance. When your ship has docked, just go through de terminal building. When you go back outside, on the other side of the building, you’ll find him selling his tour

Dear Sir/Madam,
My family and I (2 adults and 2 kids) will be taking a cruise from the 31/3/18 to the 7/4/18 via P&O. We will be stopping at Noumea for one day.
We would like a guided tour of the island. Could you please advise if you will be able to pick us up from the port and provide a guided tour for one day and how much it will be?
Regards,
Sandra.

Looking at the website it looks like a day tour is about $190 Aussie dollars, is this right? It seems really expensive. For those that have done this tour, how was the value for money?
Written 13 September 2017
At first, I thought the price was high but because of all the positive reviews I decided to book Fernando Tours for my friends and myself.
We did not regret our decision, Fernando picked 8 of us up in his air conditioned coach, showed us around places where tourists do not normally go, spent time at the Noumea's Museum, stopped and had French pastries in a wonderful patisserie. He then drove us to the top of the hill where we could see the port, went to see the canons brought by the French and Australians, we went to the natural springs up the mountain
He then brought us to Gasgogne Beach where his wife had tables laid out with cutlery and crockery, we were served a delicious lunch of local food cooked by his wife, local beer, wine , several types of bread and pastries and fruits for dessert.
Fernando speaks very good English, is funny and entertaining, played the guitar while we ate, nothing is too much trouble. He dropped those who wanted to visit the maritime museum, dropped the rest of us at the port where we could do some shopping ( it's close to where the ship was docked, however there are shuttle buses regularly picking up passengers and droving them to the ship). It's an all day trip 9am to 3.30pm.
Lunch is included in the price and everyone gets a gift from Fernando at the end of the trip.

Are the coaches air conditioned.?
Thanks
Written 28 February 2017
Yes we were in a 9 seater mini bus with air conditioning. Was very comfortable. He is a safe driver and loads of fun.

Hi, How do I book this tour & about how much is the cost?
Thank you.
Written 26 January 2017
You will need to contact Fernando through his own website for a response to your question. Just do a search. The cost is around the same as the ship tours, but we were in a mini bus, rather than a bus with 40 passengers, so a lot more comfortable and enjoyable.
