Did this as a day excursion. If you do this take the glass bottom ferry over to the island. (1,000CPF opposed to 1,500CPF for standard ferry) Everything else when you get there is quite expensive and you get charged for. Ie. beach loungers 2,000CPF per person. Snorkelling gear cost us 2,000CPF per person. Lunch which we ordered burgers was very... More

Very quick boat trip over, island is very small and bit rough around the edges and looks a little swamped with the in rush of tourists - BUT if you have a lazy day in mind I would recommend packing a picnic and then splurging on a nice lounger set up (bit pricy but totally worth having a good shaded... We took a trip over to the island as a spur of the moment thing as we had just got off a Ship for the day. Travellers should be aware if using the facilty on the island it isnt cheap 3000 francs to use 2 sun lounge and umbrella or sit on the sand in the sun. Resturant to eat... More

We were looking for a last activity in our trip and we should started here! super easy to get there, wasn't crowded at all even for a long week-end ( i guess weekdays would be even better...), and snorkeling was amazing; saw turtles, sharks (later is better for both in fact) and all the tropical fish you can name...really recommended... The closest tourist island in Noumea was very busy full of cruise ship tourists, if I had know this I would have traveled to the next tourist island further out from Noumea where the chances of having rude cruise ship travellers would be minimal. Besides that little rant, the island is a great little spot to spend the day. There... More

We were uncertain if we would visit this island and left it to last days of our stay. Wow what a surprise! A short trip across and then to land in paradise. There is wonderful swimming and snorkeling. One can hire a paddle ski or just laze about in beautiful private shady tents on loungers. There is a bar and... More

The island is only a few minutes away from Anse Vata and is such a suprise. Snorkelling was really good, with thousands of tiny fish. Little bar /restaurant supplied everything that you needed, and the prices seemed to be the same as on the mainland. The ferry will drop you off on the beach in front of your hotel if... More

Taxi boat to the island 12000 (15000 if booked from Le Meridian hotel) each way. It only takes about 5 minutes to get there. It took us 10 minutes walk around the entire island. Snorkelling was nice, and we saw several rainbow few and even a giant clam with a purple rim. Lounge chairs are expensive to hire, though you... More

Super close to Noumea and well priced quick ferry trip made this a must do on our trip. Great snorkelling just off the island, but stick to the trail so as not to damage any more coral. Suggest taking packed lunch with you as restaurant on island is a little pricey. Option to hire sun lounger for a full day... More
