Canard (Duck) Island is a short taxi ride from Anse Vata Beach and offers a safe and easy opportunity to snorkel over some coral reef. It's not the Great Barrier Reef but there are plenty of fish, some reasonable coral, food, beer and toilets on...More

A short water taxi ride to Duck Island. Red carpet entry up to the beachfront. Like previous reviewers the price of hiring a lounger was a bit up there. We paid NZ $45 each for 2 hours. Then a further NZ $30 for snorkelling gear...More

Only 5 minutes by water taxi from Anse Vata or right from Chateau Royal hotel. Totally worth multiple visits, if you are into snorkeling. Lots of fish, beautiful coral, the better area is to the left from the main beach with less people and more...More

The snorkeling here was truly stunning, and I loved every minute of it. Get out of the water though, and it’s a different story. The island is a tiny dot with a wee strip of sand, so it’s all about the water. It’s New Caledonia...More

For snorkelling in safety and spotting a wide variety of fish this is just off the coast and easily accessible. The taxi is a bit expensive but for the price just do it. There is a series of marker buoys to guide a snorkel trip...More

I really did not have high expectations for the snorkelling on this island but I was pleasantly surprised. There is plenty of colorful coral and quite a variety of fish. I even managed to see several clown fish which I have not seen elsewhere. I...More

The day I went there were only 2 taxi's running - and there was a ship load of people there. Hence we waited approx 1.5hrs either end. Do not go over in bad weather - the ride is very uncomfortable and scary.
