About 4,000 buried here from WWII; mainly Aussies but half a dozen kiwi airforce boys and thousands British unnamed soldiers. The grounds are manicured by the Commonwealth. So moving.

After I had completed the Kokoda Trail with Australian Kokoda tours the next day Anzac Day I attended the dawn service. A very moving experience hard to believe I was actually there.

Wow so emotional to see how many unnamed soldiers there are and how young as well, but the grounds are in such great condition for our heroes who served for us

We visited the war cemetery after completing the Kokoda track for the ANZAC service. What a privilege and an honour to walk through this sacred place. It’s well kept and maintained. Definitely worth a visit.

The War Cemetery is magnificently maintained by PNG & Australian support. To see line after line of gravestones in the Port Moresby landscape is a sad reminder of the ruthless war and the loss of both Australian and local lives in and around 1942. I...More

A very beautiful and well kept tribute for fallen heros. An honour to be able to pay our respects at such a special place in our history.

Hi there, I was with friends who are used to driving in PNG, I wouldn't recommend you drive yourself if you are unfamiliar with PNG. The drive is not that far, about half an hour from memory.
