It is a historical church that shows us the Age of Missions of the Spanish colonization. It is a very nice place to visit but a little bit far from downtown!

Church of the Holy Trinity. Build in the late 1890s, this is one of the most photographed icons located in Plaza Mayor historical center of Trinidad. Beautiful grilles are decorated with ornamental motifs enclose windows and doors. The inside is simply white, but harmonizes with the bold colors of the Gothic altar and pews. Stunning architecture.

The Church of the Holy Trinity is big and beatutiful and worth visiting while in Asunción. It was built in 1854 as a private place of worship for the president ruling the country at the time. The ceiling is completely decorated with paintings and there are a lot of beautiful images of the Franciscan period in Paraguay

The church wasn't open to the public when I visited but the priest in charge let me in anyway. It is a beautiful big church and it has been maintained very well.

This was a very interesting church with colonial architecture. I especially liked the history behind it.

This is a must see Unesco sight but it is 5 hrs each way from Asuncion. I did see it in one day with a stop at the oldest church in Paraguay and another Jesuit ruin which is now a small museum. It is hard to understand Paraguay's history without seeing the ruins.

This church has beautiful grounds and is within a Asuncion. Despite its popularity as a location for weddings, it isn't on most tourists' lists
