This little zoo needs more funds

This little zoo had some nice looking large red birds and some green parrot-type ones. I am not sure how they got them. A friend told me that they were rescued birds. There... read more

The zoo is within minutes from the main Georgetown area so it's easily accessbile for visitors who are staying in that area like we were. A wide variety of super cute animals, petting zoo and cheap rates. Loved it!!!

If you are in Georgetown it is worth a visit. A little oasis of calm. Of course it is not a world class zoo like London Zoo because it hasn't got the millionaire backers they have, but it makes a decent try of educating people about the country's animals. It has big plans of what it intends to do judging... More

The animals cages were very dirty and the zoo was not maintained properly. I'm visiting after 40years so you can imagine my surprise, garbage in cages dirty water for the bird and surrounding very poorly kept.

I had a great time walking through the zoo. Although the animals are sparse, the remaining animals are beautiful. My favorite was the cage full of anacondas - and they were active! The zoo is very popular with local schools, so expect to see hordes of children running around. It's actually quite nice to see their excitement. Very cheap to... More

This little zoo had some nice looking large red birds and some green parrot-type ones. I am not sure how they got them. A friend told me that they were rescued birds. There were signs all over asking people not to feed and touch animals. There weren't too many things to watch and even the ones I saw were in... More

Needs some tender loving care. It's free and pleasant area to walk around and visit grave sites of prominent Guyanese leaders since independence.
