Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I recently visited this gorgeous Páramo with a tour company called Skape Colombia.
They organized a bus and a tour guide. I think is the best way to do this hike trip, with someone who knows the area and takes care of all the logistics for you. Its about 2h drive from Bogotá so consider the return hours to the city to avoid heavy traffic.
It was a rainy day so we had the most amazing experience with a hail storm on the way up. It was an intense trail, I recommend wearing hiking boots, hiking sticks? haha and a rain cover too =) Gorgeous views, you won't regret it!

Sumapaz is the largest páramo park in the world. Covering about 250,000 hectare, it contains all montane habitats described for Colombia. But it also has agricultural areas, cattle, public roads and communities that oppose tourism, as they are uncertain whether tourism could restrict their traditional forms of income in the park. This means that, while the park has gorgeous landscapes and some vast stretches of original vegetation, it is advisable to calle the park offices before visiting, to avoid having to return from a nearly two hour drive, because you might run into protesters blocking the entrance. Otherwise, the park is a jewel. The first couple of kilometers driving in from Usme (the main access to the park), are beautiful high paramo plains, interspersed with lakes and peat bogs. Park authorities, frustrated with high numbers of weekend visitors that don´t respect any rules, have restricted access to some ponds and lakes and other areas. Still, it is worth the visit.
