If you have some spare time go to visit this square.. The president's office overlook the square and there are some interesting places nearby.. you can just sit and see the people who live the square.. very nice..

The statue here is dedicated to Pedro Murillo, one who fought for independence. The square has been a longtime meeting place and is the location of the presidential palace, the cathedral, and the national congress building. There is also a building with bullet holes in...More

The buildings around are nice, the place itself is dirty from all the pigeons. Somehow still a must to visit when you are in La Paz.

We visited the square and sat for an hour while our local guide educated us on Bolivian history and politics (a fascinating and dramatic subject). You can still see the bullet holes dotted around the square from the recent civil war between the army and...More

This should be really beautiful as it is the old colonial square in La Paz. Unfortunately, many of the buildings are run down and behind others are ugly modern skyscrapers. Behind the presidential palace is one of these monstrosities and behind the government building another...More

The classic colonial central plaza as you can find in most large cities in Bolivia is always worth a visit. But in La Paz this plaza is badly preserved. On one side there is a hyper modern skyscraper overlooking the plaza while on the other...More

The Murillo Plaza is a very nice square, safe and well controlled by police. You can see there the government palace and a sculpture in the middle. Lots of pigeon everywhere cause everybody feed them !

It’s a quiet plaza close to the centre of La Paz surrounded by fancy government buildings and pigeons. Nice place to sit and relax for a quick picnic but certainly not a must see.

A nice little square with LOTS of pigeons. We didn’t stay long for the fear of getting pooped on by pigeons but there was vendors selling sweets and bird seed and would be a good place to entertain children

We walked here to relax a while but the pigeons were everywhere looking for handouts and rather annoying to have them flying around very close to our heads. Lots of bird droppings too! Tons of people gather here, locals and tourists so it was very...More

This plaza is good to spend some time people-watching while you enjoy a delicious icecream. I was lucky to see the president in the presidential palace. My highlight was watchin women dressing the typical clothes
