Don't miss this for a wide range of Andean culture and history. Small enough you can enjoy it without being overwhelmed.

I could have rated this museum 2 over 5 as well, if I´d be more concerned with a good presentation instead of chaotic displays. But I really was impressed with the collection of pottery, stones, weapons, utensils and a mummy from the Tiwanaku archeological site....More

The Museum is small but has the necessary maps and explanations, not all of which are in English, to be helpful as background information when visiting other sites.

The building was constructed for Posnansky around 1920 and alway dedicated in collection of highland pottery an art. You can see examples from Tiwanaku, Inka, Yampara, Yaya mama and other cultures. A must for each archeological interestet. Entry Bolivianos 14.-- for tourists

gives a quick overview of the archeology in Bolivia. the explanations are in spanish. opening times seem to be a bit temperamental. but is is worthwhile going there.
