Nice and interesting for a short visit. Not so different from many other churches nd cathedrals in South America. Visit if within walking distance or a short cab ride, but not worth a long trip just to visit this place.

Interesting church to have a look at. It is useful to get a guide to help you understand and appreciate some of the intricacies and stories behind the building, as well as how the religious developed. Follow my #30somethinggapyear on Instagram @DatLoongJourney.

When you visit a foreign city, particularly like somewhere in Central or South America, there are a certain number of buildings to see - palaces, government buildings, cathedrals, etc. This is one of those in La Paz. St Francis seems to be a popular saint...More

Although you don't get to stand in the actual sanctuary, you do see a lot of the church and the surrounding buildings. Don't miss a visit to the bell tower and roof, if you don't mind narrow passageways.

The truth is difficult to contemplate in its entirety. The structure is made of stone and its history is worth remembering. If you are wearing a hat

My husband and I visited the museum attached to the church as our first stop in La Paz. I can't remember the cost, but I know it was low. The rooms in the convent contained paintings and historical information (all in Spanish). There was no...More

well worth a stroll through to see the beautiful main and side altars. Was reverent and respectful as Mass was being celebrated. Obviously not as opulent as the churches and cathedrals in Europe.

We've taken an English tour of the church. The lady is an extremely experienced one who can manage to show us all important features of the church in a 40 minutes tour. However, the tour is a bit too short and we think it should...More
