Well worth visiting towards the end of the day to join the 5pm free tour. The guide spoke excellent English and was keen to share.

The sight was included in my tour, it's really impressive and worth a visit. I don't know how it is to get individual tickets without a tour.

Looming beauty over the horizon. This beautiful grandeur place is a must-visit! Females must change into an abaya (free) before entering. Or bring a scarf to wrap your hair. Be respectful and do not show shoulders or knees.

Good place to visit again and agin. A very peaceful place. Must go there in full clothes, some burqas are also available for one time use. Well within the city limits and can be visited in 20-40 mins. Do not carry food items.

I visited The Grand Mosque on an opportunity impulse and was glad that I did. I am an open minded westerner and not religious in any way. The Mosque is a fantastic building and the 'tour' allowed to visitors access throughout. Visitors in attire not considered suitable are asked to cover up and tasteful dress is provided for this purpose.... More

This is a definite place to see in the city ,they are very strict on dress code so ladies need to wear non see through material and long ,non figure hugging trousers and long sleeve top with no skin evident ,also a wide long scarf to cover all your hair, but it is well worth the trouble as the mosque is... Visually stunning, incredible tile and glass. Very strict modest dress required for women, but they have abayas to borrow if you turn up under-dressed.

I've seen a lot of mosques around the world and this one is absolutely one of my favorites. The parking and getting to the mosque is a bit of a hassle, especially if it's a hot day (ie April - October), but that is because of the sheer size of the place. Once you get inside, it's nothing short of... More

Visited in Feb. 2017 with group of friends. It was a spiritually lifting experience. A lot of planning and attention to detail went into this creation. If learning and experiencing different cultures is your thing, this is one place worth visiting. Never seen anything like it. Could compare it to Vatican but different.
