A stunning piece of architecture, both inside and out, visible from miles away, set in beautiful parkland. As the name suggests the museum is dedicated to Islamic art from Asia and North Africa from the the 7th century to the present - early Korans, calligraphy, jewellery, ceramics, metalware, glass, embroidery, carpets, manuscripts. Currently there is also a temporary Chinese exhibition... More

Very interesting and beautiful insight into 1400 years of culture and arts from the regions of Muslims influence. Ypu learn how there is not ONE direction, but how this culture's and religion's culture always has been highly affected by any given region. Only thing missing is a stronger indepth into the regions of the Turks (thus, including southern Balkan, where... More

This museum is constructed in a picturesque location. Shape of the building itself is noteworthy. It is indeed a different view. It offers a small eatery within the building as well. All the artefacts are well distributed and the building is spacious. It has got quite a good collection and we were fascinated by the jewellery and the construction.

In term of architecture design and the amount spend to get all the historical remains, Qatar has done a great job, however, it does not reflect its name. The management have failed to keep up to the title, and I honestly left confused, was that a museum of "Islamic Art"!!

We loved the Islamic Art Museum. It was beautiful outside on the water and inside was just as amazing. The architecture is so modern and clever. The displays were great, and they had two exhibitions. One was a few Terracotta Warriors from China, which were so interesting and then other an amazing collections of Mohammed Ali memorabilia and pictures. They... More
