Grounds are remarkably clean with manicured landscaping and a marvelous palatial façade which in their entirety offer a great photo op. Since you can't tour the property or its interior, you are limited to a few photo shots of the grounds. Short stop on a tour bus before moving on to nearby museum and fort.

One cannot go inside but we can get quite a close look from outside. Looks unreal and reminds you of a science fiction movie. Really big building. A huge open area at the front where you can walk around and take all the pictures that you want.

What a magnificent setting, right on the harbor. There are watch tower overlooking this amazing palace. It is a complex with quite a few government building surrounding it. You can't enter the palace but you can go right up to the entry gate.

The Palace itself looks like something from a kitsch 1970s Sci-fi film. You can't go inside, but you can get quite close. There is also a tunnel, on Qasr al-Alam Street (near the Police Station) that allows you to access the Waterfront and the great views of Muscat Harbour. It isn't labelled, but you can get directions from local shops... More

Place is good for photos of the finance ministry and facade of palace. It is worth a visit to see the Mirani fort which offers the view of the Al alam palace from the sea side. Area is good for nice profile pictures.
