At just over 2000 meter. Jebel Shams Resort is ideally situated a few minutes walk from the famous "Grand Canyon of Oman" and a visit to us on Oman's highest Mountain at approximately 3000 Meter is great place from which to enjoy the mountain. A warm welcome is ready for all those weary adventurers who visit it. Enjoy a perfect starry night sky outside one of our Arabic Rents or Chalets and enjoy a warming campfire at night. During the day there are lots of lovely walks and treks to suit all levels of fitness. For those who want to just relax then there is a swimming pool and lovely views of the surrounding stunning mountain vista.

This track is a must, however, you should be well prepared. Make sure you bring 2 liters of water per person and have good tracking shoes. I would say that you should allow around 5 hours for the whole track if you want to relax...More

Note: Part of this is a repeat of my review for Jabal Akhdar because I want to compare the two. Before visiting Oman, I was trying to get a sense of whether we should visit both Jebel Shams and Jabal Akhdar or just one. You...More

This is a trip well worth taking. If you are doing it on your own make sure you have a 4x4 vehicle as you will have to go on an unpaved road for several miles. We were visiting in April and I was amazed that...More

Yes. The end point is a lake/ pond area and most people miss it. You have to travel over some rocks and follow the cairns to get there. They can be tricky to spot. The views on the walk are spectacular!
