This corniche is a little different from others in other countries who have an uninterrupted of the sea. However, it isn't necessarily a bad thing as you have a variety of things to view on both fronts. There are some cafes and eateries which are sea facing and have great views. I normally I would advise people to avoid as often these places would be tourist traps but we found they were often reasonably priced.

We walked from Pigeon rock to the four seasons hotel, it's a long walk but enjoyable.

MY ADVICE: Start from Pigeon Rock and it's an easy downhill walk and when your tired then pop into one of the cool cafes overlooking for sea. Even if you're on a budget the cafe prices are reasonable, after a break then continue your leisurely walk.

A popular area to walk along the waterfront. It is well paved and people come to jog and walk. There is a fancy area near the marina with coffee shops and restaurants. Near the lighthouse there are several coffee shops

The Beirut Corniche is probably one of most beautiful promenades if you want to make a long and relaxing walk. Starting at the Zaytunay Bay this promenade stretches out for several km's with some nice view points such as the pigeon rocks. Even during the cooler winter-month of december people love to stroll along this open area. We were lucky with the weather so for us it felt more or less like spring. Most enjoyable to watch the fishermen at the shore. Even when the evening falls there are still lots of people gathering together. There are a lot of new buildings but now and then you can find some older buildings in between which gives the environment a typical feeling.

The Manara Palace on the Corniche, Beirut, is an experience in which to delight. Stroll down to the lighthouse, and the Manara Palace is just across the road, Follow the interesting little tunnel down to the restaurant, and arrive at the idyllic setting in which the Mediterranean laps at the rocks below your table. There is a very portly marmalade cat on the wall, who has eaten so many scraps he is ready to keel over into the sea.
The staff are charming and helpful, but be patient with regard to language and communication; they speak some French, but very basic English. This no longer matters once you have been presented with a work of art Mezze, The wide choice of freshly caught fish includes Hamour, simply cooked and served with sliced potatoes and local vegetables. The Manara is dry, but you can relax after dinner with a shisha (apple recommended) and a lebanese coffee. Should the sea breeze become chilly after 11 pm, you will be presented with a quilted blanket to match your dress. They also do a wonderful breakfast in Manara, and some day I shall treat myself to an early morning breakfast treat overlooking the Med. Do not feed the marmalade cat; she has had quite enough.....

The Corniche is an attractive promenade that hugs the coast in Central Beirut. It is lined with palm trees and has incredible views of the Mediterranean and was always busy whenever I visited. It is good place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and is an area of Beirut that is ideal for strolling or chilling out and is worth seeing whilst in the city.

One of the very nice places to hang out at is the Beirut Corniche. We cycled there more than once with some rented bicycles. But also you have several cafes and restaurants to go to. We always like going there, there is that view of the water, always nice seeing it. Try to spend more time there when in Beirut next time, I think it's underrated by many reviewers.

The corniche is a nice walk area with plenty of people jogging or enjoying the sea view, you could find lots of mini vans offering coffee to go and soft drinks. The only concern is finding a parking spot. Overall highly recommended

The corniche is a must see spot when visiting Beirut. If you go on a weekend or a holiday, you are bound to find a lot of people fishing on the railways of the corniche and it is interesting to see them catching fish in a city and that is what I enjoyed the most about it; the contrast between city life and tall buildings and people fishing. The walk is long and enjoyable and I would recommend anyone who wants to get a taste of what life is like in Beirut to walk along the corniche.
