Nice hotel, nice central area, but traffic makes things very difficult and taxi drivers even more difficult to go around. Beirut is not what I remember since 2005...and the prices of everything are very high...especially taxis, restaurants and drinks.

I love Hamra. Although it is quite dirty and full of poverty, the area has a charm to it. There are great places to shop and eat as well

Went shopping here (walking distance from Midtown Golden Tulip Hotel). Lots of affordable stores. Great jewelry stores who were honest and courteous. Excellent ice cream. Great place to walk at night to see the real people! Loved it.

Hamra street and the surrounding streets is the place ware many bars, restaurants and shops are. This area is not very well known amonst the tourists, most people are the local ones. Plenty of authentic local bars and restaurants.

I did not like discovering this neighborhood no added value filled with counterfeit items and very low quality clothing. If you want to shop just don't stop here

We stayed in this area for 5 nights. The traffic is rather chaotic, but drivers normally stop if you step out into the street and raise your hand in a stop sign. The main drag is full of restaurants, supermarkets, and the occasional tourist shop....More

We stayed in Coral Beirut Hotel which is located in Hamra Area close to the seaside. This place is the centre of the city. We would recommend to visit this area for good vacations. We've been to this place twice.

This is a fabulous up market area and probably no more than 20 minutes walking along the Corniche to/from Zaitunay Bay; if you’re so incline. West Beirut Hamra is a mix of old & new architecture. Like many main attractions in and around Beirut there...More

I highly recommend staying in this part of town. It has a nice combination of high class and ruggedness at the same time. Very close to the bars and restaurants. Walking distance to the sea and the more expensive vacant downtown. The best are the...More
