It was closed when I went...staff are nice and from the courtyard, it looks pretty.....although small compared with other Middle Eastern Mosque, it is still a landmark in Kuwait...close to the Seif Palace, the roads surrounding it was under construction.

The Grand Mosque is the biggest and the official mosque of Kuwait located in the heart of the city. The locals call it as "Al-Masjid Al-Kabir". This has become one of Kuwait's treasured landmarks. This is not open all the time but usually during prayer times.

Book a tour in advance and be shown around the mosque and all its beauty. The adjoining rooms have a lot of history items regarding the country that are worth a view. Enjoy the Arab hospitality for free.

The mosque is absolutely beautiful and a must-see if you plan on visiting Kuwait, Grand (hence the name) and imposing, yet full to the brim with intricate decorations. Prepare to be impressed.

I visit the Grand Mosque every Friday, eventhough it is a 15-20 mins drive for me to the city. This mosque has beautiful and new constructed interiors, They have very spacious prayer rooms and cater kids as well. They have all facilities, like drinking water, clothes for prayers, cleanliness. You can make of this place during the Ramadan period, where... More
