It was very early morning on a Friday and I thought it would be closed but the one or two locals there allowed me in. I sat quietly and watched on. Very quiet times. Walked around on my own.

the mosque is not the most spectacular, however, I was offered a personal tour by a Bahraini guide which was a real treat. His knowledge and English was impeccable. I really enjoyed his open-mindedness: we also talked about culture, politics. I particularly enjoyed that he did not want to convert me . Excellent experience!

By far one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture I have ever seen. The workmanship is awesome and the opportunity to experience the beauty of the chandeliers and amazing mosaics was a once in a life time experience.
