At this place entrance is free. It is maintained by ministry of Cultural Affairs . This place is all aboiut How Manama was 50 years back , their lifestyle , their homes , everything about the old Manama .

It was nice to take a look around this old house; however, it would have been even better if there was some sort of guide or posts to give a little information or history of the place and life in Bahrain from that period. Not all parts of the house were open and the only person who was there didn't utter a word nor make any move to show me around. They only made the effort to close the door after me.

Bait Khalaf is an example of the old houses of Bahrain the way they were a generation ago. It has been restored by the Government.

This is one of the main traditional houses of Manama merchants. It was renovated by the Ministry Of Tourism few years ago, and made open to visitors and tourists alike to have a feel of how it was at that time. Entrance is free of charge.

Going to Bait Khalaf you have to see the heart of Manama and how Bahrainis old houses were and still today in the old city. You get a feel of how life was 50 years ago and how close everyone lived next to each other. It's a trip to the past. Thanks to the Ministry of Culture Affairs for restoring it.

What a great visit we were able to make by going to this place by Uber. Already the entrance with its beautiful carved wooden door bodes well for the future. We were very well received there and as we are architecture lovers we were able to understand each room, each detail and ask the caretaker for a few explanations. Moreover, he explained to us that with the ticket we could visit other typical houses in Manama for the day. Great discovery. Highly recommended !
