Try using the toilets before prayer time on the food court floor and you will find Queues, bad smell, damp all over and dangerous slippery wet floors! Not a cleaner or worker in sight! Worst toilets - people in Ihram for umrah trying to use these toilets and washrooms but also stay clean. The management should be ashamed of the state of these toilets in supposedly 5 star complex. They don’t seem to care that it’s all falling into disrepair now. Food court is full of junk food outlets but the toilets on that floor are an absolute mess!! Outrageous that they don’t seem to care!

It is enormous tower by the boundary of masjid al haram.
People have mixes feeling about it.
On one side, people say that it is landmark by the vicinity of masjid al haram, and it has premium hotels and residence, bringing revenue.
Others are of the opinion that, it was completely unnecessary to built such a grand tower by the masjid, which cover the boundary of haram and overshadows it.

The building is an iconic building.
A good hotel for hajjis either performing umra or hajj.
You’ll enjoy the food courts on the third and fourth floors.
There are also good restaurants on the 11th floor.
The building has ample parking lots for their guests.
Good to shop inside the building with their department and other stores.
I enjoy staying on the food courts between Salah / prayers.

These towers are built on the ruins of centuries old historic landmarks and offer multi thousand dollar rooms to view Kaaba. The towers are poorly managed, are not clean, directions are not marked and you feel lost minutes into it.

I didn't like these towers because they were overshadowing the most sacred place which is KABA. When u are going around (almataf) the most beloved place in the world, they make u nervous and won't let u concentrate.

It's a shame, the glitz and glam of the mall almost takes out the purpose of visiting Makkah. It should be about reflection rather than shopping.

This is really the best shopping mall near holy mosque in Makkah. In this mall you can find hundreds if stores and a lot of restaurants in a big food court

I am not really a fan of this huge complex of towers overshadowing the Haram/Ka'bah. I believe the main central tower is the third tallest building in the word currently. The design of the architecture also feels out of place to me, almost like something out of New York or London rather than a truly Islamic design.

Nevertheless it serves an important purpose hosting somthing like seven five star hotels and a huge five story shopping mall.

The best part of the shopping mall is the souk in the basement so make sure to do your shopping there rather than in the overpriced International boutiques elsewhere in the mall.

3rd and 4th food courts have everything you would want to eat, amazing choices, but all the restaurants are extremely busy so I actually preferred the Souk Al Khalil shopping mall food court in the Jabal Omar Hotel complex which is also very close to the Haram.

The lifts in Abraj Al-Bait can get very busy and many seem to be out of order so you have to wait quite a bit as there is not enough for busy periods.

A useful shop to note is the charity office called 'Hadiyah' if I remember correctly, which takes Sadaqah for Makkah and takes Fidyah payment etc. This is on the ground floor right at the far end, kind of opposite to the Fairmont Hotel entrance on that floor.

They obviously don't have a planning department in Makkah nor do the authorities have any genuine respect for the Holy Sanctuary. As ugly as they are disrespectful.
