In this holy mountain and in the holy cave the The Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SW) was given prophecy and Islam started. However, visitors should not climb up the top because it is not mandatory and it is risky.

It is a very difficult climb, but its all worth it. Only the able bodied people can try and not the aged ones.

This mountain is the place where first Revelation took place hence called Jabal Al Noor (Light). After that the Islam started & spread all over the world. Difficult to climb, hence went up to some height only.
