The castle occupies a high location above Ajloun town. The site isn't too large and has a good number of information boards around the site. There is a small museum inside the very solid structure. There is a great view from the top around the surrounding area.

The site is massive. Every corner you turn reveals yet more of this impressive site, with still lots more covered with sand or the modern town. All the past is before you, cart ruts in the streets, olive presses in the shops. A theatre and hippodrome which is still in use today. Plenty of signage to explain the site. Expect... More

A tumbling down ancient castle with great views throughout the valley. A good place to start your day of touring to get a birds eye view of the area.

nice castle, with good explanations all the way. Beautiful. Sadly there is much garbage. If you dont see it you dont loose nothing really important. Good views from the top.

Interesting piece of history that has great views of many historic places. Worth the travel if you have time - would not recommend as a primary attraction

Having visited the region often I have seen my share of Crusader era fortresses and castles. All are interesting but this one is in the best condition from the ones I have seen. Tip: Bathrooms are clean however you need to bring your own TP.

We visited the fort on our way to Ajloun forest nature reserve. I visited it years ago but it it is much better now. It is well maintained and many details have been excavated like mosaic floorings which are magnificent. The fitted lighting is nice too. Each room is illustrated with an explanatory description and you may observe the different... More

You get some nice views from the castle of the city and surrounds but the actually castle is boring with nothing much to attract visitors. The remains of a castle built during the crusades.

The Ajloun castle is worth a visit if you pass by but for me not a must see to drive to. The view over the surrounding valley is very nice though. Inside the castle there should be more information about the different rooms and their functions, as now you're just wandering about without getting any information.
