Over the past twenty years this former backwater has been developed into a superb seaside promenade. The public-sector improvements and upgrades are ongoing, especially at the as yet incomplete southern end nearest to Jaffa. Private sector redevelopment of the buildings facing the sea are also picking up pace.

Yes- even though it is not wood planks (except for the Old Tel Aviv Port at the north end of this trail), it is the walkway adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea shoreline.

As such, it is usually and almost always very very busy with those strolling, walking, jogging, running, exercising, biking (dangerous motorized ones) and playing games etc. Only the few people watchers sit on the side.

It’s a good place to watch the active life.

It’s a good place to watch the sunset, as I documented in my ten “helpful” photos here.

I love walking up and down the Tayelet (as it's called in Hebrew). It runs right along Tel Aviv's the Mediterranean beach, which is super popular with sunbathers, swimmers, and people just enjoying the nice weather. There are numerous restaurants lining the beach, so you can't walk far without finding another delicious-smelling eatery where you can sit at your leisure and eat while gazing over the gorgeous view. There's music playing from many businesses and personal radios, people play volleyball on one of the many courts, and people will jog or bike along the promenade. Everything is very clean and well-maintained; I think they renovated the promenade about ten years ago, and it shows.

Tel Aviv's most loved place. Beautiful view to the Mediterranean sea, really good organized and clean. It really is a place to calm down and boost your energy. Prefer to walk or cycle along the entire beach from the city center to old Jaffa!

This is Tel Aviv's "Cornice" or "Ipenema" look-like. Is runs all along the Mediterranean shore within the city. Ideal for biking or just walking. Not enough shade, lots of resting points with banches.

We applaud this city for constructing such a beautiful walk along the Med Sea. It is a long bit beautiful walkway.

There are restaurants and shops along the way.

However, beware to stay out of the bike and scooter lane if you are walking! They are flying in that lane!

Famous Tayelet getting better and better as time goes by. Run, walk, jog, bike-amazing. Breathe the sea air, even when it's rainy, see shiny happy people, enjoy life.

This is great walk on the beach or by side of the beach , especially early in the morning or in the evening when it is much cooler and there is nice sea breeze. We chanced on this promenade by luck one morning as we were walking from northern beach area to Jaffa town. It’s lovely walk, amid jogger’s , walkers and cyclists but it is was not really crowded at 0730 am on a Shabbat. As we got closer to Jaffa we saw surfers, Tel Aviv residents walking and playing with their dog(s) on the beach as well. It was bit warm by the time walked back but all in all it was a wonderful experience

…which has an amazing range of different areas to enjoy in different ways. There is plenty of space for fitness, water sports, beach sports, lounging, eating drinking and more. It’s clear what an asset to Tel Aviv this is and it’s all immaculately kept as well.

Tel Aviv and Jaffa are sister cities. The Tayelet is a long stretch of beach along the Mediterranean Sea that connects the two cities. The beach is a marvelous place to dig your toes into the soft sand. There are many historic markers along the Tayelet, and benches to see the sights. The Tayalet is quite picturesque. You can also get something to eat and drink. The Tayelet is a favorite day out for Israelis.
