This is the place where St Peter received his "marching orders" from God to evangalize the Roman pagans and convert them to Christianity. This is an active Christian church, and not a tourist attraction. Christian dress codes for attending church apply!!

Smaller on the inside than I thought it would be -the exterior is impressive. Well kept and had a beautiful nativity scene and music. In lovely Jaffa -only open certain hours

The church is simple, but beautiful. Don't expect European cathedral style, but think old world. The church is right in the middle of old town with beautiful doors and chimes. My favorite piece inside was the angel (Gabriel?) on the right just as you walk...More

When looking at Old Jaffa from the beaches of Tel Aviv, you cannot miss the church's bell tower perched high on the hightop. The church is simple inside and offers a nice sightseeing option when in Old Jaffa.

While in Jaffa went to St Peter Church where St Peter converted the pagan Centurion Cornelius to become Christian.Admire the stunning architecture. As with all religious sites be mindful of dress codes and always respect the silence during mass or at any time.

On Sunday mornings you can be sure it's open. Slip into the back of the religious service (in English) and gaze around for a few minutes. Then step down to the port for a coffee. Pleasant!

It is a Franciscan church. The current building dates back from the late 19th century. If you are in Jaffa, pay the church a quick visit. It is located quite centrally and you will most probably stumble upon it while wandering in the small streets...More
