Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

En route to join a tour of the Supreme Court we went strolling in the park looking for a new memorial we had heard about: in honor of the battle for Leningrad and the terrible toll in lives Jewish and otherwise in its defense. The monument is interesting enough but not overwhelming in size or presence. The pavement surrounding the piece is still under construction as is the landscaping.

PROS
• Nice good-sized green area
• Possible quiet seclusion from traffic
• Centrally located in the city
• Close to Knesset, Supreme Court
• Amazing gigantic climbing structures
• Walking trails
• Exercise stations throughout
• Basketball and roller blade courts
• Good dairy restaurant on the grounds
CONS
• No easy car parking
• Can get crowded and congested
• Can be loud and rowdy
MY EXPERIENCE
I was there last night, 2200h on a warm evening of the “sand of the season” of the Passover holiday. It was incredibly crowded and packed with families of revelers, incredibly noisy, incredibly active- to the point that it was difficult to navigate the main pathways without being blocked by large families with big multiple seat strollers, huge men who had had too much barbecue meat (see my “helpful “ photos), and little children unsupervised on all kinds and varieties of mobile riding toys, as well as pedal and motorized bicycles dangerously weaving their way through the packed crowds of holiday celebrants…. And that didn’t begin to comment on all the barbecues (against park regulations) with their wafting fragrances… and the litter.
One new incredible addition since my last visit (and TripAdvisor review of 2019) is the gigantic massive construction of many many climbing and hanging toys, swings and tunnel sliding boards that are maybe up to almost 8 meters high (or more)- it is quite massive, and draws and attracts many many of those young, and young at heart.

The park is near the government buildings and is a great place, easily accessible by foot or public transportation. One can picnic here or just relax and watch the world go by.

Yes- it’s a big park where many games of soccer are played....
... but we went during the Festival of Tabernacles (Booths) event- the day of the big marches- we were there with the Israelis who had completed the morning hikes to Jerusalem. Most of the international and Christian visitors for the support Israel March of the afternoon had not yet arrived.
Nonetheless, there were plenty of people there, and stages presenting dancing performances that were bad, idiotic, primitive, in bad taste and downright insulting: one was 50+ year old female dancers almost in tutus, and another- even worse- was a dance troupe of 20- something young women dressed as Hasidic men with cloth fringed garments with tassels and ear locks and big black hats.... so insulting and condescending to a large part of the city’s population (imagine a dance troupe of white people dressing as stereotypical blacks of the inner city and performing their version of their stereotypical dance routines on a public stage in NYC).... so why was it OK here?
On the other hand- there was an acrobatic performance from India, and that was good and worthwhile- please look at those few photos...

We were getting stir crazy in our apartment Everything was closed, so we decided to grab the soccer ball and frisbee and take a walk to this park. There was something for everyone: my older kids immediately found a pickup soccer game, thanks to the ball. My younger headed off to the play structure. The rest of us plopped on benches and grass and enjoyed the diverse crowds of people, soaking up the beautiful spring weather. A lovely slice of Jerusalem! Bring a hat and sunscreen if it’s sunny out—the shady spots fill up early!

We’ve walked through the park several times while touring and traversing the area. It’s a good place to pause for rest and to picnic.

Op shabbat wordt er in een park gezongen, is dat dit park? Zo ja weet iemand ook hoe laat?

Where would you recommend eating lunch near the park? We'll be there next week; March ... and it's a bit too cold for a picnic.
Thank you

As long as you're not planning to go on a Saturday the Machane Yehuda Market is nearby and is a fantastic place to grab a bite of lunch. Everything is good and fresh, just follow your instincts. You can't go wrong!
