A marvelously renovated quarter

The first Jewish neighborhood built outside toe Old walled city, when everyone was very poor. Today you would never know that. Many artists have settled there.

Not much to say about this as a "destination" or "attraction" but I'm glad we had extra time to just take a walk through this area.

The guest house is simply amazing: it faces the Old City, so the view is fantastic. The inside of the guest house is full of history. The staff is not very friendly. The area around the hotel is stunning. It is a great location for those wishing to go to the Old City, but it is great for transportation.

This is the first area outside the Old City that was settled... and only after really good incentives made it an offer the most hard-up couldn't refuse. The actual story is great. What a pretty area, and the views are great, and it's not a far walk from anything - it's near the YMCA, the King David, not even that... More

This is the first part of Jerusalem built outside the walls about 150 years ago. It is on a hill overlooking the valley and the old Jerusalem. It is mostly residential with narrow streets with a few shop. There is a mill and an old ottoman house transformed in a classy and by invitation only guesthouse. This is a nice... More

Beautiful place from late 19th century. A walk every day there will do you good. Out side the walls Jerusalem in 10 minutes of walking.

Wonderful guesthouse outside of the city. I had a nice room with a wonderful view of the old city. Good breakfast, very nice and friendly people are working there. Will definitely come again. Only problem: not enough parking room...

The first neighborhood outside the old city, seems like it was taken from another part of the world. Make sure to visit the Montifiore's flower mill and Hutzot Hayotzer Artist Colony, at the bottom of the hill. Great artist experience.
