This place is just amazing to say the least. In that the Dead Scrolls display is frankly just amazing. Plus it is very easy access for those who have a hard time walking around is added bonus. Also the staff really have their act together and make the tour that so much better,

This is one of my favorite museums. For a useful visit you need to be selective as there si so much to see. I enjoyed the recent special exhibit on Hadrian and Hebrew Typefaces. The art collections are of world-standard, The Judiaca collection including the reconstructed synagogues should not be missed.

This museum has several sections. Since I am not a fan of archiology and ancient eastern civilizations, I would concentrate in art. There are several intersting permanent exhibitions which are interesting, but the best value is of the temporary exhibitions, both decoration and art.

This museum houses a replica of the whole scroll of the book of Isaiah! There are also lots of examples of smaller portions of the scrolls and other artifacts found. Outside of this museum is a model of what the ancient city of Jerusalem would have looked like. This is a wonderful way to get a feel for the locations... More

A modern museum with living history becoming alive. The state-of-the-art building and impressive exhibitions from pre and post biblical periods are worth a visit. A memorable day including the unique Shrine of the Book containing the Dead Sea Scrolls discovered in caves in the Wadi Qumran, being original scrolls from around 250 BCE to 68 AD discovered in 1947 by... The art collection is world class, and it doesn't end there. The archeology portion is centered on finds within Israel, and vividly brought to life. Travellers in Israel will recognize and expand their understanding of the sights they have visited. Locals will renew their grasp of the depth of history here. The children's wing is as intriguing for adult children... More

The Dead Sea Scrolls were great- as were exhibits on ancient Israel and Hadrian. The model of the old city of Jerusalem at the time of the second temple is fantastic.
