It is a moving experience to visit this Garden. Some of the trees are 1000 years old. It's quite and peaceful and a wonderful place for contemplation . To see Olive Trees that date back that far in time and in such a sacred place is wonderful to behold particlularly where Christ suffered before being arrested.

Just to be at another Christian Holy Place. It's a spiritual experience. It's said that Jesus was arrested in this Garden. To see olive trees that's over 2000 years old. Just to tie up what we read in the Bible to the actual place where it happened is just amazing. .....

A must experience when in Jerusalem. Try to get a reservation for the private garden next to the church. A spiritual place. An experience I will never forget.

Close to Mary's tomb and Basilica of Agony. You should visit all three in a morning. Must visit during your Jerusalem tour.

Aside from the obvious biblical connection of the location, the garden itself is a wonder of very old olive tress (1800 years?). It is well-maintained and the nearby basilica is also well worth the visit. Beautiful!

I was completely overwhelmed here as I thought of Jesus praying here, knowing that his passion and death were imminent. He would have seen these very trees and stood on this ground and I could hardly believe I was standing there. It can be busy, but people were generally respectful to keep a prayerful silence. Unlike some of the other... More

If you manage to get a few moments here without a crowd of people, you can certainly feel a very peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. Alas, that is not likely to happen very often.

The Garden of Gethsemane is a very special and tranquil place, even though the garden is very small the peace it irradiates is unbelievable. Huge trees over 2,000 years old from the time of Jesus, next to the beautiful Church of All Nations -Basilica of Agony, which together have a special place in history for Christians. It is nice to...
