I was very moved by being here. There are a few trees in this garden that are believed to be over 2000 years old which would mean they were there when Jesus prayed here. This was just a very moving place for me

We visited the Garden of Gethsemane en route from the Church of St Mary Magdalena & the Church of All Nations. We were astounded to see massive Olive Trees that have indeed been Scientifically Tested and shown to be around 2000 Years Old. The garden is of course the place where Jesus Christ was betrayed by Judas as portrayed in... More

I have visited the Garden of Gethsemane many times but on this occassion had my whole family with me. The remaining trees are so old and tell their own story of what happened here 2,000 years ago when Jesus retreated to this site to pray.

The draw of this spot is not so much the physical space but what is means to Christians. It is not an impressive place except for the incredibly ancient olive trees with trunks that must be close to 20' in circumference. The olive tree was of such a profound importance to the Jews throughout the history of the Bible. The... More

The garden is very famous for many things involving Jesus a must place to visit although it is not particularly beautiful. The olive trees are impressive and are very old. A church has been constructed as a memorial on site and well worth a visit.

We were blessed to have mass at this location. The church is built on the rock where Jesus' prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane. Because there are masses, you will not always be able to get close to the rock, but the power of the place is felt, nonetheless.

So great to sit and pray in the garden. Surrounded by old olive trees and in such close proximity to Jerusalem. This is a must see when in Jerusalem.
