This was the highlight of my visit to Jerusalem. Bar Mitzvahs were happening at the wall. The atmosphere was so spiritual and seemed to involve everyone. Will stay with me for ever.

We walked and walked through the Old City, and when we went into some covered areas and went through security, then popped out and there it was - it was amazing. I've seen 1000 photos, but nothing compares to seeing it in person.

It was the second time I visited the Western Wall. The first time was in 1972. Much had changed; there is a large plaza and it can accommodate a large group of people. But once you get close to the Wall, it is emotions that...More

Western Wall is a site of worship and prayer. Security to enter the area is intense (think airport security) and modest dress is required. This means making sure shoulders and knees are covered. The area is segregated; men pray on the left and women on...More

Jerusalem holds so many treasures across the Jewish and Christian faiths in such a small land area. I've been 3 times and still yearn for more. If you ever do get to see the Holyland, I would suggest a small group tour of... More
Can I take a family photo in front of the Western Wall at 10 am or will the sun at that hour be shining over the Wall straight into the camera?

You should be fine as the wall is high enough. If the person taking the photo is close enough to the wall you should be okay. I've taken many photos by the wall of family and friends, I've never had an issue with the sun... More
