the short version is about 3 km. you can do it up the waterfall or down the waterfall. will take about 2 hours for the whole thing. some parts of the trail are under direct sun, some are shaded, a lot of fun.

A very nice and adventure for kids over 6 years old,nearby jerusalem small hiking in a natural kanyon . Located near kibutz Almog, north Dead Sea,just 20 minutes from jerusalem.there are few climbing ladders on the hiking. The family round is 3.5 km total start and finish near the kibutz.

This is a small Canyon, e.g. took us about two and a half hours including stops for lunch as well as for waiting for other groups to climb the waterfalls along the hiking. We went with kids, smallest was 6 years old which needed some help climbing but it was OK. We where there less than two weeks after rain... More

"Nahal" is Hebrew for "stream". In the desert between Jerusalem and the Dead Sea are many Nahals which are dry most of the year but carry water to the Dead Sea when there is rain in the area, often causing flash floods and closing roads in the vicinity.
