This is a good place to experience the culture. Must visit on your stay here in Jerusalem. There are a few hookah bars that are good if that is what you are looking for.

Wonderful displays of Mediterranean produce, halvah, baked goods, fish, meat, candies, and, my favorite, spices and seasonings. I always buy zaatar and other spices at Pereg in the shuk. Great, authentic Iraqi cuisine that is untempered by contemporary tastes.
