The site is full with restaurants and cafes open usually at one of the renovated traditional buildings.

In my opinion this is the only street worth visiting in Haifa. Just beautiful with an impressive view leading from one side seeing the Harbour and the other side the Magnificent Baha'i Gardens. Beautiful old style cafes and small shops. The street itself is just a couple of hundred meters long so just take a bus to the German Colony... More

The German colony is really a gem. We love going there frequently, to stroll up and down viewing the buildings dated to the the Templar's time (1860's) and looking up to the Bahai shrine and gardens. During this period of the year, the German Colony is decorated festively to celebrate the holiday of three major religions. A sort of 'Champs Elysees' of the Middle East. The nicest place for the meetings, seesights, travel and study. The unique place connecting the history with the nature together with the great taste of the mediterranean cuisine. The place where the east meets west!

This December in Haifa in German Colony every evening light illumination of the street. You can see Christmas Tree, Hanukiot, beautiful houses from 19 Century, nice cafeterias and a lot off people.
