We went on a 4wd trip, which was inroad for much of the way. We spent about 1.5 hours in the canyon, climbing in and circling back around. It's a small canyon, but with beautiful views. Our guide knew a lot about the local desert plants and animals. Lots of fun, especially getting in. Well worth it.

only a few kilometers from eilat theres a great canyon full of colors and natural resources. the shortest round trip takes about an hour when traveling with young kids and if coming at busy times at the it takes a bit more as there are ladders to climb on the way. great place to run to if you need to... First thing to write is to remind visitors that the start of this hike is a full thirty minute drive from the northern end of Eilat. Take that into consideration when deciding on and planning a visit. There have not been incidents in years here, but the ride is adjacent to the Egyptian border. At one point, I passed an... More

There are 2 car parking areas with the first one being about 1 kilometre from start of trek. If you choose the 2nd car park, the drive is a little scary as it is a dirt road with very soft areas. I started walking the green (easiest) route but could not complete it as about half way I decided that... More

It's a short track, close to the city and yet giving you the feeling of the desert. The rocks are of real red color, a lot of shade in the canyon (important almost all year round!) and the desert around...

A very nice and interesting experience for both mature and families with children. Not so hard walking along the canyon with its desert view.

Upon entering, you will surely be picked up from the mailbox map sidewalks. It's a wonderful place to delight the eye and spirit. It's not a difficult hike, I recommend it for families with children, only you'd better take along drinking more water.

Great hiking trail of Red Canyon is about 15 miles from Eilat and you can combine the trip with Timna. If you have a car take Route 12 out of Eilat . The Red Canyon hike is beautiful and not difficult. Makes you think about hiking in Utah.
