Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of Bethlehems hidden treasures. A beautiful, historic street. Lots of little shops. Also the Icon Centre is a great place to visit, and the Visit Palestine Centre has great information for tourists.

You must go the end of Star St near to Manger Square - there you will find Sami's Cafe - he runs it from a small shop and you drink his amazing coffee and tea in the street. best price in Bethlehem. He is a real star!

Usually quiet, serene etc. But during the evenings of the annual four day Bet Lahem Live Festival it is alive with music, stalls, clowns and laughter.
Don't miss:
- the Icon Centre chapel and centre,
- Singer café,
- Visit Palestine shop & café down the alley one up from the Holy Land Trust,
- Holy Land Trust rooftop café

Fantastic original street in Bethlehem that goes right through the city. Very charming and has multiple stores and museums along the route. This is where Mary and Joseph are thought to have walked.

A historic narrow street, with the ancient gateway into the city, which is why this is thought to be the route Mary & Joseph would have taken on their way into the city. Beautiful white stone buildings line the street, and there are a few shops and the fantastic Singer Cafe too. A very uncommercial, quiet street - evocative in a way that is sometimes hard to find elsewhere in Bethlehem. Excellent toilets at the Icon Centre.

The oldest street in Bethlehem. Shops. Shopping. Candy. Clothes. Olive wood. A very nice area if you’ve come this far.

This is a great wee street where you can buy some genuine Palestinian ethnic gifts which will support the very limited means of earning an income the residents have available to them. Aladien's shop is highly recommended.

This is a world heritage site. It was amazing to walk through these ancient streets and enjoy an experience of many before me.

Every Christmas I walk down Star Street when I arrive to Bethlehem - following Saint Joseph and mother Mary's path to the Nativity. Christmas does not feel complete without a reminiscent walk along this historical street.

There are beautiful views along this narrow stone street, which is lined with limestone houses with beautifully ornamented entrances and windows. It begins near the site of King David’s Wells and gently meanders through the main part of the historic centre and under the Qaus Al-Zarrara - sometimes also called Damascus Gate - towards Manger Square and the Church of the Nativity. It is the road that once connected Bethlehem to Jerusalem and further cities such as Damascus, which is why this is thought to be the route Saint Joseph and mother Mary travelled on that blessed night.

A very quiet street that is nicely restored with new paving stones and all the shops and homes have brightly painted doors alternating yellow, blue, purple and grey.

Whilst this is the oldest street in the area, I didn't particularly feel safe as the shop owners were coming out to encourage you to come into their shop and in the midst of walking down this street, you had to dodge the cars traveling up/down the street at the same time. Though you need to use this street to access some of the churches (mainly the milk grotto).
