We are just writing this as a warning to other travellers. The happy hole was closed and appeared to have shut down. We are unsure if it's under renovation or if it has closed. Important to note that's it's not currently open.
This place is FANTASTIC, the owner is great, so friendly and helpful. If you're hungry he'll sort out getting food delivered.
Drinks are great, although if you ask for a shot he'll bring what looks like a triple.
We had so much fun here!
We had spent the day visiting the sites of Istanbul and found ourselves looking for somewhere to have a cool drink. We decided on The Happy Hole because it was the only place in the street that didn't have someone out the front trying to...More
I've been there with my friends and we ordered 5 differents drinks.
One of them was a milkshake which doesn't have ice cream, it was only milk with chocolat powder. The other one was a caipirinha without cachaça, the waiter put more cachaça after our...More

I am really sorry that you did not enjoy your experience with us. I will speak to the manager who was on duty and pass on your feedback. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Istanbul.
Myself and my girlfriend visited The Happy Hole on a weeknight in Mid March after a disappointing dinner at a local eatery (see my review of the Sultan Bistro for more on that), and decided that a few drinks would be the perfect remedy. After...More

All the restaurants on this street seemed to work together. This place had an interesting music selection and the staff was fun and friendly - it was great chatting with them about everything. Beers were reasonably priced, hookah was available.
I must have stopped in every evening when I was camped at a nearby hotel while house hunting in Istanbul. Beverages are their specialty, you can also order food. Nothing better than the funky charm, comfortable seating, easy-going staff and good margaritas at the Happy...More

With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to
retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
