Nothing can compare to mingle with nature alone, clean, solemn and it is a good place to rest after a long walk from the main district of Istanbul and just sit back and relax.

This park is a delight in the heart of old Istanbul. The metro stop is Gulhane. Renovations continue each year and the park continues to be a place of peace and nature. There is a science museum hidden in the back of the park. If open, it's a well organized and visually stimulating story telling of discoveries of a past... More

This garden runs the foothills of Topkapi. If you exit near the museum side, this park is easily accessible from that side.Beautiful park, you can tell the local government takes great efforts to maintain the place.I liked the water fountain that kind of looked like it prints pictures ,patterns and words out of water.Too bad the flowers weren't in tiptop conditions anymore /no... If you want to go to the Sultan's Park, visit it. The park is two steps from the historic center and was part of the Top Capi Palas. Visit it in the middle of April and enjoy the fabulous views of the blossoming tulips. The park is very beautiful. Do not miss it. There is also a nice bistro where... More

Very well laid out, landscaped, shady, and clean. Went there several times to take a break and watch all the locals enjoy themselves, especially families. Plenty of shady grassy areas.

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
Sultanahmet
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
