This was an interesting little zoo. Clearly a lower budget affair, but a fair mix of animals. There was no English on the map or signs, except for the name of the animals. The most terrible zoo I've ever been. Poor animals seem to be suffering there. I never saw a lori with such a bad fur and felt sorry about every animal there. Only one parrot looks happy. Place itself is very small both for people (99% locals) and for animals. Too crowded and a lot small babies less than 1 year... More

We visited this lovely medium sized zoo on our recent trip to Istanbul and I have to say I (surprisingly) really enjoyed it. It's difficult to call this place a Zoo even after visiting Moscow or Singapore Zoos. Nevertheless there were a lot children we couldn't walk thru because local Turkish women smoked too much sigaretss and it was impossible even for us to breath.

It is quite far out of Istanbul - we were in the area and so went to visit it. It is not well sign posted either, but the local people directed us to it. The whole place looks a bit tired (we did however, go in the height of summer - so maybe that is why it was very dry... More
