We recently had last minute changes in our travel plans and ended up in Istanbul, Turkey. Wanting to see other areas in Turkey, we were recommended by our hotel to Walkabout Travel. Within an hour of calling, one of the representatives arrived at our hotel. Ozge Yilmaz was a wonderful and delightful person. She spoke english and had numerous ideas... More

If you're planning on a day trip or just need some advice on what you should do in different parts of Turkey, please... More

I was referred to Mustafa, of Walkabout Travel, by the concierge at my hotel. He came to the hotel to arrange an overnight trip to Cappadocia. He recommended a specific hotel (Azure Cave Suites in Cavusin) and boy, was he right!!!! Everything on the itinerary he had prepared went like clockwork: transfers, flights and tours. The two tours in Cappadocia,... More

Excellent place to plan your travels. These people will find the most exciting places in Turkey for you to go to. I went to Ephesus, and it was an amazing trip.Akin Karakas was my travel consultant that I highly recommend. He was a great guy that patiently spent probably 2 hours addressing all of my concerns (this was during low... More

We entered this place just to get informations about a bus ticket to get to kapadokya... we ended up buying the bus tickets, and a hot air balloon ride as well. It has been the best experience ever and we got it at a very reasonable price. If you are planning a trip or just a single day visit somewhere... More

Walkabout Travel is a fantastic travel agency that not only designed our entire itinerary for us based on a few things we had heard of, but organised meals, transfers, hostel accommodation and air and bus transport. The hostels selected were excellent and everything on our schedule was completely stress free. Also a great price for the whole 10 days. Mustafa... More

Isatnbul is still a must see city although it is changing fast. Once you have a city map and metro map, the city is easily navigated. All the major sites are easy to get to and overall are wonderful. The hardest part of Isatnbul is the language and poor signage directing you to places. With so many restaurants it is... More

Staying in Sultanahmet

Neighbourhood Profile
With so many unmissable attractions within a mere stroll of each other – and all set around the site of an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to retain an air of peace and calm. It offers visitors a significantly less celebrated but nonetheless pleasant network of quaint lanes and side streets, majestic panoramas of the Bosphorus, and an impressive assortment of accommodation options for all budgets and tastes.
