Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were determined to see the Asian side of Istanbul, so we took a ferry to the Kadikoy market. Of course, the ferry at night was an adventure, in itself. But the market! We had heard it was a lot of fun, but we are not shoppers, so we really weren't expecting much. How wrong we were. This was early evening, or rush hour, so it was packed with locals. There are restaurants, food stalls, clothing stalls, produce stalls..... All colorful and everyone seemed to be having a great time. Of course, that could simply be the after-work group. We tried the wrapped fig leaves from one vendor, and the stuffed mussels from another. Wonderful food. Delightful people. We only stayed about one hour, but I would have liked staying another couple of hours - perhaps staying for dinner, as well.

Get away from the tourists and see the more liberal and what I consider the heart of Istanbul. What a paradise. Everybody is so happy and going about their business you can almost lose yourself people watching the locals!

Had a meeting on the Asian side of Istanbul so was up early to catch the ferry from Karakoy to Kadikoy, what a great way to travel, very cheap and relaxing you can get coffee or tea onboard and enjoy the fantastic views. Kadikoy is very busy and bustling with people travelling to work, so probably best to avoid peak travel times. Lots of interesting restaurants on the Asian side.

You can feel definitely different sense in Asia side from any streets in the European side. You should take a walk on the market street.

Asia. Anatolia. The Turkish Toledo. Real Istambul. Locals will be open to let you grasp and get a quick glampse to their past, food and culture. Walk down to breath the marine breeze. Sit and eat something. Ask for a cure for -escorbuto-. They will provide.

No offence, but you can really feel the fact that the real heart of Istanbul belongs on the asian side. The smell of the spices and the delicious food, the colors, the music, the expressions. Hands down one of the richest cities in culture.
