A small Byzantine church located in the grounds of Topkapi, it has a separate entrance fee and is not really worth paying unless you have the Museum Card. There are no frescoes or any interesting features suggestive of its ancient history

There was no entry fee, rather small place and no reason to charge. Feels like the building is in a state of neglect. Very interesting to note how the columns on either side all had different bases and some of different length. Worth a visit...More

It's worth visiting. Agia Irini was the main church of the city before Hagia Sophia was struck. It is located in the courtyard of Topkapi.

Worth a quick look if you have a museum pass but id have been a bit disappointed if I'd paid to go in. Shame not to be able to see the done due the the pigeon netting.

With so many unmissable attractions within a mere
stroll of each other – and all set around the site of
an ancient Byzantine hippodrome – Sultanahmet is an
overwhelmingly popular tourist destination, and a
prime location for visitors to be wowed on a truly
epic scale. Beyond the wonders of the Blue Mosque, the
Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and more, this
relatively small area of Istanbul somehow manages to
